ROCKY’S BACK! WITH A NEW BOOK, A BIG MOVIE AND A TOUGH FOE NAMED SUCCESS
Vintage October 18, 1977 issue of US Magazine features a fantastic portrait of Sylvester Stallone on the cover, plus a feature story on Sly.
The article entitled “A New Battle for ‘Rocky’ Stallone” was written by legendary film critic Roger Ebert and discusses Stallone’s meeting with President Jimmy Carter (a ‘Rocky’ fan), and production work on Sly’s post-Rocky project, “Paradise Alley”.
It features several great black-and-white photos, from the set of “F.I.S.T”, a gorgeous family portrait with Sasha Stallone and Butkus the dog; a shot of Sly and Frank Stallone working out on the heavy bag together; Sly and Sasha fencing in the front yard of their Beverly Hills mansion, and one of Sly working on a painting in his earliest style – this one of Rocky Balboa and Apollo Creed duking it out in the ring.
Stallone is quoted as saying: “I’m not a person anymore. I’m someone to be challenged and taunted and stripped of my identity.”
72-page magazine is in good condition has a faint crease throughout which does not detract from the cover.
